Intern Position
The Idaho Renewable Energy Association (IREA) is the local non-profit chapter of the American Solar Energy Society (ASES) and was formed in 2009. Our mission is to promote adoption of renewable energies through education, public outreach and policy development. The Idaho Renewable Energy Association is the best way to think global and act locally in advancing to a renewable energy economy!
IREA is starting to grow quickly and needs the help of a part-time volunteer intern to assist with planning and development of IREA events (includes 2 events, mandatory participation from the intern is expected for the August 13 event and the Renewable Energy Tour), membership databases, newsletter and web content, and other tasks associated with running a non-profit organization. This internship would be idea for an environmental studies student with interest in renewable energy resources and working for a non-profit in the future or for a business/marketing student interested in business management, marketing, and event production and promotions. The selected intern will gain experience and exposure in the renewable energy industry, learn day to day operations of a non-profit, learn about policy and legislative updates in the Idaho renewable energy industry, learn how to make an outdoor festival sustainable, and some marketing skills.
The student must be reliable, willing and able to work from home with an internet connection for 10-15 hours per week, and have weekly scheduled meetings with the executive director. Students interested in this position should provide two letters of reference from past employers or professors.
